This is the
day the Lord
has made,
let us
rejoice and
be glad.

Franciscan Poor Clare Nuns
The Poor Clares are dedicated to a life of prayer, lived out in the context of joyful living in community with each other and with nature. Although the community is, in a large part, dependent on alms from the faithful who seek out their prayers, they also support themselves by the work of their hands. Striving to engage in work that will not only be compatible with their life of prayer, but above all be an integral part of their relationship with God, this community of Sisters finds communion with the Creator through caring for His creation, especially the loving and lovable miniature horses. They also engage in creative arts such as ceramic making.
